  • Discovering Santa Croce, Florence

The Basilica of Santa Croce is the largest Franciscan church in the world (it has 16 chapels) and it’s famous for being the burial place of some of the most renowned Italian artists, such as Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galilei, etc. It was built in 1294 probably by Arnolfo di Cambio (designer of the Duomo).

We got sandwiches at the Ambrogio market and ate them in the square! The weather was great, we really enjoyed sitting on a bench and looking at the people walk by!
